Arrival in Quito.

Welcome to Quito! It is the most visited city in Ecuador due to its rich culture and is considered the "Reliquary of Art in America." Additionally, it was the first city to be declared a UNESCO "Cultural Heritage of Humanity." The city is surrounded by the Pichincha, Antisana, Cotopaxi, and Cayambe volcanoes, which shape the Andean contour.

Depending on your arrival time, you may spend the day exploring the old town of Quito and its surroundings. We can help organize a day trip (please request in advance). In the evening, one of our guides will meet you in the hotel lobby for a welcome briefing at 6:00 PM. During this session, we will discuss details and answer any questions you may have about the adventure. Our first day is for acclimatization and information.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Swissotel Quito or similar in double occupancy.

Not included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Quito - Galapagos - Transfer in - Highlands - Twin Craters

In the morning, after a delicious breakfast, one of our guides will take you to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Islands. Once you arrive on Baltra Island, you will be picked up and transferred to Santa Cruz, a nearby island, crossing the narrow Itabaca Channel by ferry. From here, we will continue by car to our first stop in the Santa Cruz highlands. The highlands are home to the iconic Galapagos giant tortoises. Here you will visit a private ranch where you can walk in search of the giant tortoises. During this visit, you will also see some lava tunnels, formed when the surface of a lava flow solidifies.

After this tour, you will continue in a private vehicle to your hotel. Here you will meet your local guide, who will explain the next day's itinerary.

Enjoy the rest of the afternoon free to relax and explore this beautiful island.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Dejavu or similar in double occupancy, breakfast, and lunch.

Not included: Dinner.

Bay Tour - Charles Darwin Research Station.

After a delicious breakfast at around 8:30 AM, we will walk to the Main Dock where we will board a boat authorized by the PNG for about 15 minutes of navigation to Punta Estrada. From the boat, we can observe blue-footed boobies, frigatebirds, gulls, etc. Then we will snorkel in Franklin Bay for about 45 minutes. Optional snorkel equipment will be provided free of charge for anyone who wishes to use it. Here, you can see a wide variety of colorful fish, sea turtles, small sharks, etc. Then we will head to another spot, the Shark Canal, located at Punta Estrada. Here we will disembark to visit the Shark Canal formed by magmatic chamber uplifts, where we can observe harmless whitetip reef sharks. After this, we will walk about 10 minutes to the Playa de los Perros, located in Punta Estrada, where we can observe the island's vegetation until we reach a beach with marine iguanas. Time for photos and enjoy the landscape, but swimming is not allowed here. After this, we will head to Las Grietas.

We will walk 15 minutes past the salt mines; Las Grietas is a natural pool where saltwater from the sea meets freshwater from the highlands, filtering through the crevices and gathering here to form a unique place ideal for swimming with fish and snorkeling. Here we will have excellent photo opportunities.

Return to the hotel around 12:30 PM, and lunch.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to learn more about many of the endemic species seen in the wild, as well as ongoing conservation and management efforts in the Galápagos Islands.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Dejavu or similar in double occupancy, breakfast, and lunch.

Not included: Dinner.

Transfer Santa Cruz - Isabela - Arnaldo Tupiza Giant Tortoise Breeding Center - Flamingo Lagoon - Tintoreras Islet.

After breakfast, we will take a speedbat to the largest island in the archipelago, known for its volcanic activity. The island was formed by six shield volcanoes: Alcedo, Cerra Azul, Darwin, Ecuador, Sierra Negra, and Wolf; five of them are still active, making the island one of the places with the most volcanic activity on the planet.

Upon arrival, we will visit the giant tortoise breeding center and the flamingo lagoon to admire this incredible species in its natural habitat.

In the afternoon, we will visit Tintoreras Islet, located a short distance from Puerto Villamil and home to a variety of wildlife. Its turquoise and crystal-clear waters are inhabited by whitetip reef sharks, Galapagos penguins, sea turtles, and sea lions. One of its beaches, surrounded by mangroves, is one of the few places where marine iguanas can reproduce successfully.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Loja or similar in double occupancy, breakfast, and lunch.

Not included: Dinner.

Sierra Negra Hike - Volcan Chino - Concha Perla

After driving from Puerto Villamil to the trailhead, we will prepare our backpacks for the hike into a young forest ecosystem, a world of recent geological history. Our destination is the edge of the Sierra Negra crater, an active volcano that last erupted in June 2018. Upon arrival, we enjoy breathtaking views and explore the circumference of the enormous lava-filled crater, which is more than six miles wide at its widest point. If we feel energetic, we can continue our hike to Volcan Chico, a secondary crater with a wild landscape of fumaroles and colorful lava formations; great examples of the dramatic geological events that have shaped the Galapagos Islands over millennia.

In the afternoon, you will have time to enjoy the crystal-clear waters of Concha Perla and do some snorkeling to observe marine life.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Loja or similar in double occupancy, breakfast, and lunch.

Not included: Dinner.

Transfer Isabela - Santa Cruz - Transfer out - Quito

After our final breakfast on the Galapagos Islands and the last photos of sea lions, we will transfer to Baltra Airport in time to catch the flight back to the mainland.

Upon arrival in Quito, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for one more free night before saying goodbye.

Included: Accommodation: Hotel Swissotel Quito or similar in double occupancy, and breakfast.

Not included: Lunch and dinner.
