ITINERARY                                                                                            

Our journey begins at approximately 08:00 at the designated meeting point for this tour. We will head south of Quito along the Pan-American Highway to the majestic Cotopaxi Volcano, which is surrounded by its National Park, home to abundant plant life, rich fauna, and Inca ruins. Our visit starts at the natural history museum before continuing to Cotopaxi. We will ascend the mountain as high as possible to the parking lot at 4,500 meters. From here, a short 45-minute hike will take us to the refuge. After descending from the refuge, we will cross the páramo to reach Limpiopungo Lake. On a short walk around the lake, we will observe a variety of birds and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Afterward, we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant.

We will return to Quito around 16:00.

Approximate duration: 8 to 9 hours.
